About the Role
Assist residents in residential treatment to secure financial resources by working with government agencies and the NYS Healthcare Market Place. Act as a liaison between clients and the Department of Social Services, appeal benefit denials, and assist in discharge planning and insurance issues.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents in residential treatment to secure financial resources by working with Dept. of Social Services, Veteran’s Affairs, Social Security Administration as well as NYS Healthcare Market Place.
- Act as a liaison between clients and Dept. of Social Services
- Appeal benefit denials
- Assist in discharge planning for residents
- Assist clients as well as outpatient staff with insurance issues
- Complete insurance eligibility checks
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.
- Associates Degree with 1 year of human services experience required.
- High School Diploma with 3 years of human services experience required.
- Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting
- Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
