About the Role
Join AWIN, a premier network of 23 luxury automobile dealerships and 3 collision centers, and contribute to one of the most prestigious automotive groups. We are seeking a Licensed Automotive Technician for our North York Kia dealership.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles powered by electricity, gasoline, or alternative fuels.
- Perform tire rotations and oil changes.
- Diagnose complex vehicle problems and plan repair strategies.
- Execute vehicle repairs accurately to ensure customer satisfaction and avoid comebacks.
- Detect and diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints.
- Inspect and road test newly delivered vehicles.
- Stay informed on Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
- Notify the Service Consultant and Shop Foreman of required additional work or deadline changes.
- Ensure customer vehicles are clean and report any incidents affecting their appearance or condition.
- Attend manufacturer-sponsored training courses to stay updated on products, parts, and vehicles.
- Report safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Perform work described in work orders efficiently and accurately.
- Test systems and components for proper function and security.
- Isolate systems or components causing issues.
- Drive vehicles for testing purposes and use diagnostic equipment.
- Adjust, repair, or replace automotive system components (fuel, brakes, steering, engine, emissions, climate control, electrical/electronic systems).
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect and test mechanical units (engines, transmissions, axles, brakes) to identify faults.
- Obtain and return parts from the Parts Department as needed.
- Report defective or poorly functioning equipment to management.
- Ensure customer vehicles are clean post-repair.
- Report any incident affecting vehicle appearance or condition to the Service Consultant promptly.
- Supervise Apprentice Technicians as requested.
- Maintain a clean and tidy shop environment, adhering to all regulations and bylaws.
- Perform other tasks as required by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License.
- Clear Driver's Abstract.
- Technicians License.
- Ontario College of Trades membership.
- Knowledge and use of power, machine, and hand tools.
- Four years of direct work experience in automotive repairs and service.
- Extensive knowledge of different vehicles and their service needs.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently or as a team, managing time and workflow.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
