About the Role
The IT Operations team keeps Anthropic running smoothly, ensuring employees can perform their best work without friction. This role focuses on developing a global asset management and hardware lifecycle program across multiple international offices, managing day-to-day operations for the corporate mobile program, and overseeing laptop and workstation lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Develop the global asset management strategy, including the lifecycle model, data management, and office execution plans.
- Select, implement, and administer the asset management tool, defining its data model and integrations.
- Contribute to and develop on-site engineer processes for storage room operations.
- Support the evaluation and onboarding of a hardware lifecycle services vendor and manage the day-to-day relationship.
- Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of record from receiving through disposal, tracking every device's state, location, and assignment.
- Conduct audits of device assignments and reconcile physical counts with the system of record.
- Manage demo, loaner, and travel device inventories, ensuring accurate tracking during complex logistical deployments.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory counts to support strategic purchasing decisions for new hires and peripherals.
- Support hardware purchasing through reseller and vendor relationships, working from the refresh calendar.
- Build out and advance the hardware refresh calendar across offices.
- Reconcile purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices with Accounting and vendors.
- Develop device collection and recovery workflows for offboarding, refresh swaps, and remote employee returns.
- Build the e-waste program, including certified recycling and secure disposal partners, data destruction records, and chain of custody.
- Handle equipment under legal hold or other chain-of-custody requirements.
- Provision, track, and recover the device fleet for BPO partners and serve as the day-to-day hardware contact.
- Run day-to-day operations for the corporate mobile program and write its runbook.
- Manage deployment, break-fix, and carrier relationships for the mobile device fleet.
- Identify repetitive work and automate it using available tools, scripts, system integrations, or AI tools.
Requirements
- Experience implementing an asset management and lifecycle program for a multi-office fleet, including defining processes for procurement, inventory, assignment, refresh, collection, and disposal.
- Experience selecting or implementing an asset management platform (e.g., Jira Assets, Snipe-IT) and developing its data model.
- Experience running an e-waste or secure disposal program with certified partners and chain-of-custody records.
- Experience managing reseller or vendor relationships for hardware purchasing and asset disposal.
- Ability to document processes through runbooks, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Ability to recognize when a request exceeds the role's scope and route appropriately to IT Engineering, the Endpoint pod, or Finance.
- Experience supporting a corporate mobile program or carrier account is a plus.
- Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python) for inventory or reporting automation is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity is a plus.
- Experience as a hands-on asset contact for an ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audit is a plus.
