About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for a broad range of financial accountabilities and financial services delivery as part of the Research Finance Team, with specific responsibilities related to CFMHRI’s Research Centers, large philanthropic gifts, and research operational funds. This role plays a key part in supporting financial reporting to internal committees and donors, long-term sustainability planning, financial analysis, and providing strategic advice to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Supporting financial reporting to internal committees and philanthropic donors

- Building effective, collaborative relationships outside of their immediate team
- Working strategically with Research and Finance leadership, Scientists, Research Centre Directors and Managers, and members of the CAMH Foundation
- Assistance in financial reporting & analysis
- Budgeting/forecasting
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Month-end and Year-end financial close support
- Identification of risks and opportunities
- Providing strategic and value-add business advice to address financial challenges/opportunities
- Assisting/reviewing research business proposal development
- Assisting/reviewing donor funding proposals
- Assisting/reviewing other financial requirements
- Supporting a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
Requirements
- Canadian professional CPA designation
- 5 years of related working experience
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to apply critical thinking, and reporting of findings that are relevant and value-add
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external departments
- Self-starter who has the ability to work both independently through self-directed learning/working with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively and through teamwork
- Demonstrates the ability and interest in working with a diverse team in an environment that values diversity and equity
