About the Role

Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for investor reporting, including financials, footnotes, and MD&A. This role involves technical accounting and policy expertise, coordination with external auditors, and collaboration with various internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare deliverables for lender or covenant compliance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual Cash Flow statements.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
  • Prepare quarterly EBITDA Reconciliation to Operating Income and Net Income per lender agreement.
  • Prepare and/or review MD&A and footnote disclosures (e.g., goodwill, intangibles, PP&E, leases, stock compensation, pensions, restructuring reserve, debt, segments).
  • Prepare monthly cash flow analytics.
  • Review and/or prepare disclosure checklists.
  • Adhere to tight timelines with high-quality output, driving consistency and accuracy.
  • Interface with other departments to obtain or confirm data for statements.
  • Work with the consolidation team to ensure financial close tracking and drive improvements.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews and analysis of accounting pronouncements (SEC, FASB, PCAOB) and their impact.
  • Prepare annual impairment assessments, including balance sheets by reporting unit and coordination with valuation specialists.
  • Maintain and communicate the Company’s Corporate Financial Policies, including periodic reviews and updates.
  • Assist in adopting new accounting standards and drafting new policies.
  • Utilize accounting research tools for technical accounting guidance.
  • Ensure share-based payment accounting is in accordance with U.S. GAAP, coordinating with HR and external specialists.
  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes for the Company’s 401(k) Savings Plan and Defined Benefit Pension Plans.
  • Coordinate with HR/Benefits and external auditors for timely completion of plan financials.
  • Ensure pension accounting is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and prepare pension-related disclosures.
  • Prepare/review annual pension assumption memo.
  • Conduct proactive discussions with external auditors regarding data requirements and manage the timely preparation and delivery of PBC List items.
  • Maintain a listing of non-GAAP policies or practices and obtain supporting documentation.
  • Utilize HFM for consolidation and reporting.
  • Use Wdesk/Workiva for financial statement and footnote preparation.
  • Access SAP and JDE as accounting entry source repositories and ERPs.
  • Review forecast and/or brand/segment data using Hyperion MR & Planning/Essbase.
  • Review consolidated results using HFM.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations using Blackline.
  • Manage control ownership and framework compliance using AuditBoard.
  • Execute high-quality and timely analysis/support for special projects and ad-hoc requests.
  • Provide support to local markets/subsidiaries, Treasury, Executive Staff, External Consultants, Legal, Tax, and other functional areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in variance accounting and finance roles.
  • Preference for experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC requirements.
  • Experience with end-to-end preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience interacting with senior management and executive levels.
  • Proven ability to assess business risk and escalate to management with appropriate alternatives.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
