About the Role
As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Madison Health, you will provide treatment to patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist, aiding in rehabilitative care for those with injuries or disabling diseases. You will follow the established plan of care and goals set by the Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe and effective physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Applies accurate therapeutic principles and practices.
- Uses technical knowledge and clinical judgment in observing patient reactions to treatments.
- Reports necessary adjustments to the Physical Therapist.
- Completes documentation timely to maximize compensation.
- Tracks personal performance to support efficient and effective care.
- Demonstrates open and effective communication with other health care providers, patients, and families.
- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Ensures confidentiality of patient records.
- Interacts professionally with patients and families, providing explanations and verbal reassurance.
- Maintains and operates equipment safely and correctly.
- Follows department procedures for sterilizing equipment.
- Manages facilities, materials, equipment, and time for service delivery.
- Exhibits knowledge of and complies with state, federal, and APTA regulations.
- Performs physical therapy treatment abiding by laws, rules, and code of ethics.
- Participates in activities that promote hospital operations and departmental growth.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Ohio.
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
