About the Role
As a Physical Therapist at Madison Health, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, treating, and discharging patients to enhance their physical capabilities and reduce discomfort. You will also supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and students, and manage both inpatient and outpatient appointments.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patient condition upon referral and integrates data to create customized treatment plans with goals.
- Provides safe and effective physical therapy, incorporating physical, mental, social, and emotional components.
- Applies accurate therapeutic principles and practices, using technical knowledge and clinical judgment.
- Completes documentation timely to maximize compensation for physical therapy treatment.
- Demonstrates open and effective communication with healthcare providers, patients, and families.
- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect, ensuring confidentiality of patient records.
- Interacts professionally with patients and families, providing explanations and verbal reassurance.
- Maintains and operates equipment safely and correctly, following department procedures for sterilization.
- Manages facilities, materials, equipment, and time for service delivery.
- Exhibits knowledge of and complies with state, federal, and APTA regulations.
- Performs physical therapy treatment abiding by APTA laws, rules, and code of ethics.
- Participates in activities promoting hospital operations and departmental growth.
- Engages in continuing education and professional growth activities related to Physical Therapy.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
