About the Role
The Laundry Aide is a critical role within our communities, impacting residents' lives and igniting human connection. This is for an existing position.
Responsibilities
- Provide clothing and linen support services, including collection, distribution, processing, and inventory of linens and personal clothing.
- Sort linens, load and unload washers and dryers, and perform ironing and mending as required.
- Fold, sort, and load linen and clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery, and audit linen for labels and repairs.
- Discard and record inappropriate inventory when necessary.
- Maintain high sanitation standards, a clean and tidy work area, and equipment, applying infection control protocols.
- Observe machine operations and report malfunctioning equipment to the team leader.
- Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete cleaning duties as outlined in the laundry room area.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principles.
- Support and participate in quality initiatives by providing input and suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Secondary school graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge of infection control, cleaning practices, housekeeping operations, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents.
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants).
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
