About the Role
Join the E3 team to work on critical energy issues, shaping energy and climate policy, participating in regulatory proceedings, advising executives, and informing investment decisions. You will be challenged and inspired by working with top minds in the electricity industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering client work through modeling, developing presentations, writing report subsections, and fulfilling additional client requests.
- Conduct independent research, making reasonable assumptions and producing solutions, sometimes with incomplete information.
- Fulfill end-to-end internal project obligations.
- Deliver presentation sections to clients and respond to questions.
- Tackle complex analytical tasks.
- Apply core QA/QC best practices.
- Develop proficiency in using a flagship modeling tool, gathering data, and vetting results.
- Assist in proposal writing as needed.
- Translate research and evaluation results into clear visual representations.
- Aid project leads in creating or editing client-ready spreadsheets and developing customer solutions.
- Modify existing tools and models to improve functionality and efficiency.
- Proactively track work performance against plans and communicate with management.
- Capture project learnings and repeatable products for future use.
- Assist with internal initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in engineering, economics, computer science, public policy, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of related experience in an energy-related field.
- Prior experience addressing renewable energy and climate change issues or demonstrated advanced-level academic related project work.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience, academic project work, or extensive knowledge in Energy Planning and Policy (EPP), Transmission, Pricing, and Risk (TPR), Market Advisory and Valuation (MAV), or Distribution Technology and Planning (DTP).
- Collaborative work style, supporting team members.
- Ability to translate technical concepts to broader audiences.
- Ownership of work, proactive problem-solving, and creative solution-finding.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for the transition to a low-carbon economy.
- Demonstrated success guiding ideas, people, and projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Programming knowledge and experience are valued.
- Desire to work in a dynamic office environment with staff.
