About the Role
SLR is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with consultancy experience in S278 and general infrastructure to join their Transport Engineering team. This role involves preparing detailed designs, feasibility studies, and scheme reports, alongside project management, budgeting, and costings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed designs, feasibility studies, and scheme reports.
- Manage projects, budgets, and produce bills of quantities and costings.
- Ensure scheme designs comply with specifications and agreed programs.
- Ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
- Assess designs for environmental impacts.
- Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third parties.
- Coordinate with other team members involved in the design process.
- Support junior team members on projects.
Requirements
- Consulting experience in the design and management of the Section 278/38 process.
- Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
- Ability to engage in effective negotiations with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third parties.
- Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Competent in the use of Civils 3D.
