About the Role
Gaia is transforming fertility care by building the technology infrastructure to make treatments more accessible. You will architect the infrastructure that makes family building accessible to everyone, working at the intersection of fintech and healthcare. You will build solutions that directly impact people's ability to start families, touching lives directly.
Responsibilities
- Architecting the infrastructure that makes family building accessible to everyone.
- Owning real slices of the Gaia Orchestrator, including state machines, workflows, and integrations with external systems.
- Building and extending the AI-Native Operations Layer, which uses AI as infrastructure for ops, compliance, and member workflows.
- Working on the AI-Native Operations Layer's LLM-powered agents and scheduled routines.
- Working on the Real-time Underwriting Engine, including models and pipelines.
- Crafting member-facing experiences from pre-cycle intake to outcome reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a full-stack engineer in startup environments.
- Strong Python and TypeScript experience.
- Experience with MariaDB or any other RDBMS.
- Strong technical background in building high-quality code and infrastructure.
- Preference for simple solutions over complex ones.
- Actively optimizing how you work with AI, not just learning it.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs into something real.
- Experience automating tasks in your own workflow using AI.
- Put the user first.
- Excited to work in small, cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable taking on big, loosely defined projects and breaking them down.
- Able to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
- Holistic problem-solving approach beyond just technical considerations.
