About the Role
This role ensures Formula 1’s IT Systems are correctly commissioned, maintained, and operated to meet ongoing Business and Production objectives, reporting into the IT Systems Manager.
Responsibilities
- Upgrading, installing, and maintaining physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for IT systems and improving the documentation process.
- Reviewing current technology offerings and identifying improvements within department responsibilities.
- Managing projects through their lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are engaged.
- Implementing new solutions and providing training to other technology teams with full documentation.
- Making appropriate changes and additions to the IT Systems infrastructure within Change management processes and SOX controls.
- Responding flexibly and adaptively to support business requirements and ad hoc requests.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure maximum uptime across fixed sites, cloud, and Grand Prix events.
- Managing and complying with backup and disaster recovery plans for IT Systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues from a helpdesk perspective.
- Implementing security measures, performing security tests, and ensuring system integrity.
- Producing root cause analysis reports for failures and issues.
- Providing user support and acting as an escalation point for other technology teams.
- Being available to work on IT systems outside of usual business hours, both planned and unplanned.
- Traveling to Formula 1’s business sites and partners premises when required.
- Keeping abreast of developments in the IT Industry and considering their incorporation into the IT Systems Infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proficient communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and confidently.
- Highly motivated and well-structured in managing tasks.
- Positive, adaptable, and flexible when faced with challenges.
- Proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Essential knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience supporting and Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio, including design, coding, and implementation.
- Understanding of SAML, SSO, PAM, IAM, Active Roles, AD, and Entra ID.
- Knowledge supporting and managing SQL databases.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Server, Linux, and Mac OS systems.
- Knowledge and support of Azure Logic Apps.
- Operational knowledge of a wide range of device management tools.
- Experience with Virtualisation and Cloud based solutions such as VMWare, Hyper-V, Nutanix.
- Good customer service, communication, and team working skills.
- Experience working in a global organisation across different time zones (desirable).
- Experience working within the sports/entertainment industries and with major events (desirable).
- Current UK driving license.
