About the Role

Formula 1 is seeking a Data Analyst to join the IT department. This role will focus on maintaining, developing, and optimizing data enterprise solutions, supporting the data lifecycle from ingestion to reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support data activities, data integration, warehousing, and business intelligence.
  • Maintain and develop data ingestion processes using ELT methodologies.
  • Design and build scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows.
  • Support data loading and change data capture processes.
  • Monitor data quality, integrity, and performance across data platforms.
  • Maintain medallion architecture layers in a data lake for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Apply data modeling best practices for enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Build data transformation logic and identify opportunities to improve data quality, usability, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and assist in building the documentation process.
  • Drive innovation in IT by reviewing current technology offerings and identifying improvements.
  • Manage projects through their lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are engaged.
  • Implement new solutions and provide training to other technology teams with full documentation and walkthroughs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOX, organizational security policies).
  • Respond flexibly and adaptively to business requirements and ad hoc requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues via helpdesk and incident management processes.
  • Perform security tests and ensure system integrity for a secure IT operating environment.
  • Produce root cause analysis reports for failures and issues, working with problem management processes.
  • Be available to work on IT systems outside of usual business hours, both planned and unplanned.
  • Travel as required to Formula 1's business sites and partners' premises.
  • Stay updated on IT industry developments and proactively consider their incorporation into IT systems.

Requirements

  • Proficient communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Experienced documentation and organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and well-structured in managing tasks.
  • Positive, adaptable, and flexible when faced with challenges.
  • Proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proven experience in data activities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric including Data Factory, OneLake, Spark.
  • Knowledge of DataFrames, Partitioning, Performance Tuning, Notebook Development, Spark SQL, Delta Tables, Data Modelling, Semantic Models.
  • Good customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Current UK driving license.
  • Experience working in a global organisation across different time zones (desirable).
  • Experience working within the sports/entertainment industries and with major events (desirable).
