About the Role
A warm, professional couple on the Upper East Side seeks an experienced weekend nanny for their 16-month-old son. This role involves sole-charge and shared care, managing the child's routines, meals, activities, naps, and bedtime. The position offers approximately 34 guaranteed hours per week with private accommodation provided. The family seeks a calm, warm, and caring individual who can provide dependable support and accommodate occasional travel, respecting family privacy while becoming a consistent, long-term presence.
Responsibilities
- Manage the child’s daytime, evening and bedtime routines
- Plan age-appropriate activities, classes, playdates and outings
- Support the child’s developmental milestones through engaging play
- Prepare and serve all meals and snacks for the child
- Manage the child’s laundry and keep his clothing and wardrobe organized
- Keep the nursery, play areas and child-related belongings tidy and organized
- Coordinate with the weekday nanny to maintain consistency
- Communicate openly with the parents regarding the child’s care and routine
- Provide evening babysitting on Friday and Saturday
- Travel with the family on occasional weekends
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional nanny experience
- Recent experience caring for infants and toddlers
- Excellent, verifiable professional references
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- CPR and first-aid certification
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required
