About the Role
The CIO Group within the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) is seeking experienced Cloud Engineers and/or Architects to assist with the delivery of various ICT Projects. This role involves developing enterprise-level cloud platform architectures, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to government standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365
- Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems
- Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers
- Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements
- Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards
- Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects & testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives
- Liaise with the department’s Service Experience team to ensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations
- Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment to target architectures and technology
- Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation – testing, continuous integration and deployment
- Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable to cloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, open data/access over siloed functionality
- Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions align with the DTA’s Digital Service Standard
- Be strategic, a leader and influencer
- Undertake additional duties as required
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level architectures for MS-Azure
- Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and development of project work aligned with WoG Standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and Azure API Management
- Demonstrated experience with Azure DevOps for code development, management, repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Demonstrated experience integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Demonstrated experience with Azure networking, security and identity management capabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role Based Access Control
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
- Ability to collaborate and mentor team members to promote team harmony
- Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations
- Ability to pragmatically change direction and scope as new information is discovered and challenges or opportunities present themselves
- Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies
- Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures
- Demonstrated experience in application and integration, or infrastructure platform architecture
- Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but not essential
- Must have Baseline security clearance
