About the Role
CAMH’s Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) is seeking a Research Analyst to assist with a study focused on transgender and gender-diverse youth mental health. The role involves contributing to research activities, participant recruitment, data collection, administering questionnaires, data analysis, and supporting knowledge translation. The analyst will also support administrative activities and ensure research compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of the unique health, social, and structural inequities affecting transgender, gender-diverse, and 2SLGBTQ+ populations, contributing to community-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-grounded research.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a range of research activities across multiple studies
- Participant recruitment and data collection
- Obtaining and maintaining informed consent
- Administering study questionnaires and interviews
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Supporting knowledge translation activities
- Developing materials to communicate research findings, such as policy briefs, research reports, infographics, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications
- Support administrative activities related to youth engagement
- Ensure research activities are conducted in accordance with approved study protocols and applicable regulatory requirements
- Work independently while contributing as a member of a multidisciplinary research team
- Liaise with community health and housing organizations across Ontario
Requirements
- Completed a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field
- At least one year of relevant research and/or clinical experience
- Demonstrated experience conducting research and/or working in partnership with 2SLGBTQ+ individuals
- Strong understanding of the health inequities, lived experiences, and social and structural factors affecting diverse 2SLGBTQ+ populations
- Familiarity with current 2SLGBTQ+ terminology and best practices for culturally safe, affirming, and trauma-informed research
- Experience contributing to multiple stages of the research process
- Experience conducting mixed-methods research
- Ability to interpret and communicate research findings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
