About the Role

NYSERDA seeks to fill two Contract Manager positions to support procurement, contracting, and reporting activities within a high-volume government contracting environment. This role manages the full spectrum of procurement and contracting, ensuring adherence to policies and minimizing risk.

Responsibilities

Serve as a resource for assigned teams, interpreting procurement needs, recommending approaches, and identifying risks.
Manage solicitation development, scope of work creation, contract negotiation, and contract modifications.
Develop and maintain accurate procurement and contract reporting, including status updates and cycle-time analysis.
Support the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies like AI and automation for contract administration.
Foster a customer-service orientation to ensure timely contracting of critical programs, goods, and services.
Educate and advise assigned teams on all contracting and procurement matters.
Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
Effectively manage and analyze risk for all contractual documents.
Partner with and support colleagues to ensure adherence to contract regulations and risk management.
Provide guidance during planning meetings, solicitation development, evaluations, and contract administration.
Understand the full suite of NYSERDA contracting and provide back-up to other Contract Managers.
Perform all job responsibilities with respect, fairness, consistency, and inclusion.
Perform other responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, or equivalent experience in contracting or procurement.
Comprehension of technical contract language and ability to draft contractual instruments.
Experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing procurement, contract, or operational reports.
Experience using emerging technologies like AI and automation for contract lifecycles.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and ability to develop robust processes.
Ability to draft contractual instruments such as Solicitations, Agreements, and Statements of Work.
Extraordinary diligence and thoroughness.
Strong consensus-building skills and ability to build productive relationships.
Skilled in managing multiple, diverse activities simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to continuous learning.
High level of energy and enthusiasm for a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Ability to drive to big picture goals and solve strategic problems while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution.
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
