About the Role
CKD USA Corporation is seeking an Orbital Welder to join our Semiconductor Manufacturing Department. This position is responsible for manufacturing weldments via butt-welding in a Class 100 cleanroom environment, maintaining station/equipment cleanliness, and ensuring welds meet specific quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains equipment and tooling relative to the operation of orbital welding.
- Performs orbital welding of gas lines ranging from ¼” to ½” diameter.
- Ensures weldments are built to specification based on the blueprint.
- Performs small adjustments to weldments utilizing hand tools.
- Performs daily, routine, and preventative maintenance/inspection on welding equipment.
- Follows all safety rules and procedures.
- Presents a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and co-workers and makes decisions based on company policies and processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent preferred.
- Solid mechanical skills and a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of common hand tools and power tools; ability to identify common hardware and build to complex instructions.
- Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple to complex assemblies or parts.
- Ability to read and interpret written information and blueprints.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality focused.
- Strong computer skills.
- Knowledge of high vacuum systems a plus.
- Related butt-welding experience preferred.
- Previous Orbital Welding experience required.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to lift over 25 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers.
- Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to sit for sustained periods.
- The ability to talk on the phone and use a computer for extended periods may be required.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
