About the Role
Octopus Energy Germany is a global EnerTech company revolutionizing the energy market with a mission to make global energy 100% sustainable. We are changing the energy market for the better with new technology, offering green electricity tariffs, heat pump solutions, smart meters, e-mobility, and renewable energy generation. We are looking for individuals to join our team and challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting position papers, briefings, and other texts such as social media posts (e.g., for LinkedIn).
- Monitor news, legislative changes, and political discussions, preparing them quickly and precisely for the team and management.
- Contribute own ideas for our political positioning and the further development of our public affairs strategy.
- Support the advancement of our energy policy goals and the successful communication of our positions to political decision-makers.
- Take responsibility for organizing and supporting political events.
Requirements
- Enrolled student in a degree program for politics, economics, energy management, communication science, journalism, or a related field.
- Possess a hands-on mentality, be a team player, and enjoy implementing things quickly.
- Enthusiasm for economic contexts and technologies related to renewable energies and electrification.
- Have a fundamental understanding of politics, strong analytical skills, and a quick grasp of concepts.
- Be strong in communication and vocal with your opinions.
- Willingness to delve into new topics and expert debates surrounding energy policy, with the ability to compile results concisely and clearly.
- Work proactively, organized, and self-responsibly.
- As a working student, have at least 16 hours per week available and spend most of your working time in the office.
- Possess very good German and English language skills.
