About the Role

Join AIR as a Project Associate with our Healthcare Transformation Program. We work collaboratively to unravel the intertwined challenges of health care quality, costs, and access. Our work includes critical support for program integrity, ensuring that limited government funds are spent as intended to support access to health insurance. The individual selected for this role will support this goal by leading a small team responsible for reviewing improper payments on State-Based health insurance exchanges.

Responsibilities

  • Review insurance application data to evaluate eligibility for Advance Payment of Premium Tax Credits (APTC) on State-based health insurance exchanges.
  • Determine improper payments of APTC, report on findings, resolve discrepancies, and close appeal cases.
  • Present findings to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Assist in annual program updates based on health policy analysis.
  • Lead execution of tasks to ensure smooth project execution and efficiency.
  • Perform oversight and quality review for work products produced by team members.
  • Manage information in project management tools like Airtable, including data management and interface coordination.
  • Act as a central point of contact for team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare and distribute project-related documents and reports.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may impact project progress and communicate status with project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience working with or for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of health insurance exchanges preferred, but not required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
  • Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
  • Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

Skills

  • Ability to translate project needs into operational actions and provide consistent support across multiple projects.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure timely completion of project activities.
  • Proficiency in Airtable or similar tools strongly preferred, but not required.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing project information and preparing documents.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues that may impact project progress.
  • Ability to perform basic research, summarize findings, and extract relevant information from various sources.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
