About the Role
To build and develop trusted relationships with current and potential clients. To provide personalised investment advice and portfolio management, ensuring portfolios align with the Company's investment philosophies and processes.
Responsibilities
- Look after and support client needs.
- Execute the annual Business plan in line with agreed individual targets.
- Build new client relationships and develop existing ones through effective ongoing service to minimize attrition and deliver new instructions and referrals.
- Structure and lead client meetings professionally, ensuring information is up-to-date, technically accurate, and meets client needs.
- Construct and maintain suitable portfolios in line with client requirements, circumstances, tax situation, and risk attitude.
- Review portfolios regularly and make changes, consulting with colleagues where appropriate.
- Place deals accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Work in partnership with Financial Planning and Professional Services colleagues to develop client relationships.
- Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date client records are kept in line with Group policy.
- Strive for no complaints and ensure received complaints are raised with the Client Resolution team promptly for satisfactory resolution.
- Maintain and develop knowledge and skills in line with industry, regulatory, and internal requirements through regular CPD.
- Conduct sector analysis (direct equity or collective) to support the firm’s wider Investment Process needs.
- Understand sectors and provide appropriate recommendations based on a wide range of resources.
- Actively participate in regular meetings, taking ownership of actions, and collaborating with other sector specialists.
- Construct materials within sector teams to support analysis and communication to Investment Managers.
- Lead teams and ensure standards are met (where appropriate).
Requirements
- Holds a relevant level 6 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing.
- Understanding of the financial services industry and investment market.
- Experience of managing client investment portfolios and providing investment advice.
- Strong understanding of portfolio management, asset allocation, investment research, and market analysis.
- Ability to support client portfolios while delivering a high standard of client service and relationship management.
- Experience of remodelling newly acquired portfolios and bringing them into line with the investment policy.
- Technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide-ranging investment management strategies and solutions.
- Ability to work well in a pressurized environment and prioritize work.
- Experience of leading pitches and winning new business.
- Experience of operating within a risk management framework with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business.
