About the Role
Participate and work in the field to complete preventative maintenance work orders, including changing filters, belts, cleaning fan coil units, and repairing/replacing basic HVAC system components. Respond to daily work orders and make needed repairs to HVAC systems. The successful candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, unquestionable integrity, be a good listener, a team player, and maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing and installation of heating, ventilating, and cooling components, including compressors, valves, coils, heat pumps, motors, belts, bearings, fans, filters, wiring, and control systems.
- Conduct routine and emergency repairs, as well as preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and components.
- Interpret engineering drawings and equipment manuals for HVAC systems and components.
- Replace minor parts and components for HVAC systems.
- Set and maintain equipment-operating schedules.
- Provide recommendations regarding systems maintenance and repairs.
- Evaluate, maintain, and update preventative maintenance tasks and schedules, ensuring timely and correct completion of all work.
- Respond to emergency work and projects, including off-hours and weekends.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Work with the snow shoveling crew during snow events.
Requirements
- Trade or vocational school graduate, successful completion of apprenticeship, or applicable experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience in related HVAC work.
- Ability to work indoors in cramped, crowded spaces, usually not air-conditioned.
- Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather, at ground level and on roofs.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch to gain access to pipes, wiring, and equipment.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
