About the Role
As Music Producer, you will own the final stage of music production, combining instrumentals and vocals into finished records, mastering them to a consistent standard, and upholding the quality bar for external producers and vocalists. You will play a key role in setting the sound and standard for a growing catalogue that reaches millions of listeners and shape how a new kind of music production runs at scale.
Responsibilities
- Combine and finish tracks by aligning, tuning, and editing vocals, balancing the mix, and delivering release-ready tracks.
- Master every track to consistent loudness, tone, and format standards for streaming platforms, archiving clean metadata and stems.
- Review all deliveries from producers and vocalists, accepting them or providing precise feedback for improvement.
- Maintain a written standard for all deliveries.
- Manage the production pipeline from brief to final master, tracking progress and deadlines.
- Write reference briefs and checklists to ensure delivery consistency.
- Utilize stem separation, tuning, mastering, and AI audio tools to enhance speed and consistency.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience producing, mixing, or mastering commercially released music, ideally at volume.
- Proficiency in mastering to streaming loudness standards.
- Expertise with your chosen DAW (Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, or similar).
- Ability to align, tune, edit, and integrate vocals with instrumentals.
- Experience reviewing others' work against a standard and providing constructive feedback.
- Proven ability to say 'no' when necessary for quality control.
- Experience managing a production pipeline with multiple tracks, deadlines, and remote freelancers.
- Comfort working across pop, hip hop, electronic, lo-fi, and ambient genres.
- Ability to adapt production chains to different genres.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
- Experience using AI music generation or stem separation tools in a real release workflow is a plus.
- Close following of developments in AI music is a plus.
