About the Role

Manages client relationships and daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) accounts, serving as the main point of contact and ensuring compliance with strategic plans. Participates in the development and delivery of innovative products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor administrative and operational systems for accounts with moderate to complex risk levels to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Review and comment on operative documents and agreements for assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate risk monitoring and regulatory compliance activities with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit departments.
  • Resolve issues related to control and client service aspects of assigned accounts.
  • Structure and close GCM transactions in a timely manner with external parties.
  • Complete account administration activities including cash flow execution, fee billing, reporting, and tickler processing.
  • Participate in sales calls, prepare fee proposals, and evaluate fee suitability.
  • Manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide coverage and support for other Relationship Managers.
  • Represent GCM at transaction closings, client meetings, and presentations.
  • Represent GCM and lead departmental projects and corporate initiatives.
  • Participate in Divisional and Departmental projects, including product development and policy enhancements.
  • Direct and monitor less experienced Relationship Managers and Client Administrators.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance GCM’s control environment, products, coordination, and client service model.
  • Advise management on product changes, market conditions, and regulatory impacts.
  • Supervise and mentor members of the managerial group.
  • Exercise managerial authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
  • Adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk.
  • Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets, OR a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets.
  • High level of proficiency with personal computers and pertinent software.
  • High proficiency and experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting legal documents.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with corporate structures, relevant laws, and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
