About the Role

The Marketing Analytics team is seeking a Sr Data Analyst, Search Marketing with strong analytical skills, SQL proficiency, and fluency in the search landscape. The role requires an appetite for AI and a desire to explore how AI tools can enhance analysis and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze search performance, digging into SEM and SEO data to understand drivers of traffic and revenue, and translating findings into actionable insights.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable tracking of search channel performance and surface insights to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Support experimentation by helping design and analyze incrementality tests and experiments across search channels.
  • Build a working understanding of paid and organic search interactions and monitor the impact of Google algorithm updates.
  • Analyze the competitive and demand landscape, tracking impression/click share, competitor positioning, and search demand trends to inform bidding strategy and supply acquisition.
  • Build an understanding of the evolving AI search landscape, track presence in LLM and AI-generated responses, and develop recommendations for AI search strategy.
  • Monitor daily search performance against targets, flagging trends and anomalies early.
  • Collaborate with analysts on CRM, Display, and Affiliate Marketing, and ML colleagues, to identify opportunities where search insights connect to the broader marketing picture.
  • Apply an AI-curious mindset, seeking opportunities to use AI tools for data querying, summarization, and reporting automation.
  • Support the development of analyses and recommendations to improve search traffic and commercial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Solid analytical skills with SQL and structured thinking.
  • Data-driven approach, comfortable challenging assumptions with evidence.
  • Curiosity about search and its impact on the business.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with analysts, ML colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Genuine interest in AI and a desire to grow skills in this area.
  • Ability to ask questions and learn quickly.
  • Clear communication skills, able to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while being a strong team collaborator.
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related).
  • 3-5 years in an analytical role, ideally at a fast-paced ecommerce company.
  • Experience in Search Marketing Analytics is a plus.
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
  • Basic proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
  • Solid understanding of statistical testing and experimentation.
  • Genuine personal interest in AI, with curiosity about applying AI tools to analytics work.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SEM, SEO, PPC, or content marketing concepts.
  • More advanced programming experience in Python or R.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered analytics or querying tools.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional marketing team.
