About the Role
As a Sales Associate, you will help customers understand their needs and assist them in selecting the right products. You will make recommendations that solve customer problems and enhance their shopping experience. This position focuses on sales, customer service, and product knowledge within the flooring department, with cross-training in other departments.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales through customer engagement, suggestive selling, and product knowledge sharing.
- Clarify customer needs and guide them to the best solutions for their projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
- Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions.
- Produce quotes and material lists, and follow up.
- Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service.
- Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Continually learn about products and market conditions.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and team player skills.
- Sales and customer service experience.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends on a rotating shift basis.
- Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D365) for order processing.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
