About the Role
Join Pay-O-Matic (POM) as a Customer Accounts Recovery Specialist, providing primary support to the Collections Department and secondary support to the Check Verification Department. This role is crucial in helping customers manage their financial needs through relatable products and services within a diverse and celebratory company culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform collection calls and correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented department.
- Provide customer service regarding collection issues and resolve client discrepancies.
- Monitor and maintain assigned accounts.
- Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts.
- Answer and screen telephone calls professionally and timely, taking accurate messages.
- Distribute daily internal/external mail and overnight packages; send and distribute faxes.
- Compose, type, and distribute professional correspondence, memorandums, emails, and faxes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of department systems and procedures.
- Perform general clerical duties including filing, photocopying, and mailing.
- Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Conduct research on returned checks and compile data.
- Organize received data and source documents, identifying data for entry.
- Interface with staff to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
- Enter data into the computer following established guidelines.
- Proofread entered data against source documents and make corrections.
- Organize and record completed work.
- Handle source documents according to established guidelines, filing, distributing, or returning them after data entry.
- Respond to staff inquiries regarding entered data or source documents.
- Learn Check Verification policies and procedures to support the Check Verification Department.
- Perform other assigned tasks to support the Loss Prevention and Check Verification Departments.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of check cashing or banking experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and File Maker Pro.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
