About the Role
Empire Fiber is seeking a hardworking and focused IP Engineer to support IP Engineering projects. This role is critical in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our service provider network. The position requires on-call nights, weekends, and holidays on rotation, with overtime as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation.
- Design, deploy, and optimize IP/MPLS networks.
- Maintain and configure SIP/VoIP infrastructure.
- Manage multicast streaming and IGMP/PIM configurations.
- Monitor network performance and resolve service issues.
- Manage firewall policies and DDoS mitigation.
- Maintain network documentation and change logs.
Requirements
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be computer literate and have experience with digital telecommunications equipment, Internet Protocol, VOIP, Centrex, PBX, voice mail and DSLAMS carriers.
- Demonstrated skill in managing multiple simultaneous activities.
- Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License.
