About the Role
We are hiring our first dedicated design hire: a founding product engineer with impeccable taste who will own how the product looks, feels, and works. You will primarily create new product experiences from scratch, owning the experience, design, and frontend implementation, partnering with backend engineers. A central part of the job is discovering how people should interact with AI agents that do real work on their behalf.
Responsibilities
- Own experiences from first sketch to production, including user flows, design exploration, prototyping, frontend shipping, and customer feedback.
- Simplify complex workflows by transforming dense information and operational details into clear interfaces.
- Discover and test interaction patterns for AI agents to ensure the product is understandable, useful, and trustworthy.
- Build reusable components and patterns to establish consistent design craft and improve team efficiency.
- Work directly with customers to understand operator needs, test prototypes, and incorporate feedback.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing and building products at fast-growing startups.
- Demonstrated ability to take a product from idea to production, adapt to changing priorities, and balance speed with quality.
- Exceptional UI/UX taste with a clear point of view and ability to articulate design decisions.
- Strong frontend fundamentals and ability to independently ship production interfaces.
- Thoughtful systems thinking to improve multiple product areas with reusable components or interaction patterns.
- Initiative and follow-through to develop incomplete ideas into working products.
- Curiosity about AI experiences and the potential of agent-driven software.
- Exceptional early-career candidates with strong taste and shipping ability will also be considered.
