About the Role

As a Barclays Prime Services Negotiator Vice President, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and executing capital markets contract documentation to support the Prime Services and Prime Derivative Services businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your knowledge drafting, negotiating, and executing prime services agreements (including Futures agreements, OTC clearing agreements, and ISDA master agreements, repurchase agreements, and stock lending agreements), and providing the highest quality of service to multi-faceted and high-caliber clients.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Transaction Services and Documentation activities comply with applicable laws and regulations, managing legal and reputational risks.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, credit risk management, and other departments, for timely and efficient transaction execution.
  • Create, review, negotiate, and manage legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other transactional documents.
  • Provide transaction support, including preparing transaction summaries, conducting due diligence, and assisting other departments.
  • Develop and implement transaction processes and procedures for consistent execution.
  • Pro-actively identify, communicate, and provide legal advice on applicable laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs), staying updated on changes and ensuring adequate reflection in policies, standards, and controls.
  • Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organization functions to contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Collaborate with other work areas and business-aligned support areas to stay updated on business activity and strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Define problems and develop innovative solutions through in-depth analysis and interpretative thinking.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
  • Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute capital markets contract documentation to support Prime Services and Prime Derivative Services businesses.
  • Draft, negotiate, and execute prime services agreements (including Futures agreements, OTC clearing agreements, and ISDA master agreements, repurchase agreements, and stock lending agreements).
  • Provide high-quality service to multi-faceted and high-caliber clients.

Requirements

  • Experience with the suite of prime services agreements.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and executing capital markets contract documentation.
  • Experience with Prime Brokerage, Futures, repurchase agreements, stock lending agreements, and related financing businesses.
  • Experience with Futures agreements, OTC clearing agreements, and ISDA/CSA.
  • Experience with Intermediation agreements (FXPB).
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders of the firm with respect to risk, controls, and legal.
  • Assessment on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
