Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of client’s financial statements for all Canadian based mutual and institutional funds.
- Coordinate and plan client deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are achieved.
- Manage 2-4 staff, including training, development, and performance reviews.
- Form and lead project teams for the creation of special reports to address specific client needs and internal reporting.
- Interact extensively with clients to discuss deliverables and inform them of market and regulatory changes affecting financial reporting.
- Oversee client relationships and support the client service team as a subject matter expert in Financial Reporting.
- Review quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for various Fund structures and IFRS and NI 81-106 regulations.
- Manage external and internal audits.
- Review investment industry regulatory and accounting changes and produce client updates.
- Train staff and colleagues on changes in the regulatory and accounting environments.
- Lead and manage projects in the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in internal State Street committees as required.
- Support AVP, Financial Reporting in the completion of RFPs and participate in sales presentations to existing clients and external prospects.
Requirements
- 5-6 years experience in the investment fund industry with financial reporting experience required.
- Experience in preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Superior attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of Canadian Fund Reporting and Regulatory Environment requirements outlined under IFRS and NI 81-106.
