About the Role
The Core+ Legal team guides the technologies shaping Google's future, partnering closely with Core, gTech, and key Business Functions to ensure safe innovation and improved user experiences. As a Product Counsel, you will advise on novel projects and launches that maintain Google's safety, cohesion, and impact for users, developers, and Googlers.
Responsibilities
- Advise on a strategic portfolio of products within Core, gTech or key Business Functions with Google wide impact.
- Identify and solve complex issues in areas such as generative AI, agentic development, privacy, IP, open source, competition, content moderation/safety, accessibility, and consumer protection.
- Provide risk-calibrated guidance to enable compliance with existing and new laws.
- Collaborate with other legal teams, business teams, and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
