About the Role
As a Delivery Solutions Architect (DSA) at Databricks, you will collaborate with sales and field engineering teams to accelerate customer adoption and expansion of the Databricks platform. You will provide technical guidance and support for customer-implemented Databricks workloads, ensuring they derive maximum value and ROI. This role involves a hybrid of technical and business responsibilities, driving growth within assigned customer accounts and use cases. You will build relationships with customer decision-makers, strategize with specialized teams, and act as a technical leader for Databricks products post-implementation.
Responsibilities
- Define and influence technical execution strategies across complex use cases and multiple workstreams in strategic accounts.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer technical leads and architects, leading architectural discussions and guiding technical decisions.
- Design secure, governed, scalable, and reliable Databricks architectures that balance performance, cost, reliability, and long-term needs.
- Build and demonstrate practical solutions, prototypes, and reusable technical assets to accelerate customer outcomes.
- Anticipate platform maturity and scaling needs, establishing best practices for security, governance, and operational excellence.
- Drive platform adoption and utilization by influencing architecture, removing delivery blockers, and connecting technical execution to business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Databricks, customers, and implementation teams to coordinate resources, manage risks, and accelerate delivery.
- Mentor peers and contribute reusable technical guidance, frameworks, and enablement for organizational use.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in roles such as Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Professional Services, or Data Engineering.
- Experience influencing technical strategy and architecture across complex customer use cases and multiple workstreams.
- High coding proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar languages, with the ability to build, debug, and validate technical solutions.
- Deep understanding of distributed data systems, data engineering, analytics, data warehousing, AI/ML, and modern cloud architectures.
- Experience designing secure, governed, scalable, and production-ready data solutions.
- Ability to solve ambiguous technical problems, evaluate trade-offs, and validate solutions through structured analysis and experimentation.
- Experience leading architectural discussions with technical leads, architects, and senior customer stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of platform operational excellence, including security, governance, performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Proven track record of driving customer adoption, utilization, and measurable business outcomes through technical leadership.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate teams without formal authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Full professional proficiency in Japanese is required.
- Business-level English proficiency is a plus.
