About the Role

The Commercial & Industrial Relationship Manager acts as a trusted financial partner to business owners and Centers of Influence in the Rochester market. This role focuses on cultivating and expanding relationships with mid-to-large commercial clients, developing new business, and managing an existing portfolio. By offering lending, deposit, and treasury management solutions, the Relationship Manager aims to support client success while driving portfolio growth, fee income, and deposit generation in line with the Bank's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Analyze borrowers' financial and operating strategies to recommend credit solutions for immediate and long-term capital needs.
Generate non-interest income through new deposit accounts, cash management products, merchant card services, insurance, wealth management, benefit programs, and other financial services.
Network within the community and guide teammates on business development strategies.
Manage and service a large loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with lending requirements, profitability, and acceptable risk.
Maintain ongoing customer communication to stay updated on strategies and capital needs, and gather necessary financial information.
Review customer application documentation and financial data as the first line of quality control before underwriting.
Ensure adherence to all relevant credit, operating, and compliance policies and procedures.
Prepare clear and concise opportunity and/or transaction memorandums for credit requests.
Participate in community and civic events to foster goodwill and acquire new business.
Demonstrate the Five Star Bank experience standards and high-performance behaviors in all interactions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of commercial lending sales experience specializing in relationship management, business development, and community-centered banking solutions.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and banking systems.
Results-driven and highly motivated sales professional.
Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis, underwriting practices, and bank policies.
Deep understanding of the local market and ability to develop, expand, and retain relationships.
Proven relationship management skills with a focus on business development, portfolio growth, and client service.
Extensive travel within Corporate footprint.
Extensive computer usage is required.
