About the Role

The Human Resources intern provides support for the Episcopal SeniorLife Communities (ESLC) Human Resources Department, including clerical support, assisting with staff orientation, employee benefits enrollment, and promoting awareness of available HR services. This is an internship for academic credit only.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all communication equipment.
  • Provide recruitment support.
  • Audit pending new hire files to ensure all employment and pre-employment paperwork is scanned.
  • Scan new employee paperwork after orientation completion and move pending new hire files to digital records.
  • Ensure all pre-employment and onboarding documents are completed once an employment offer is accepted.
  • Follow up with new hires as needed to ensure timely start dates.
  • Prepare new hire orientation folders, name tags, and coordinate room setup and catering.
  • Prepare benefit packets.
  • Assist with employee communications regarding benefit programs.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of benefit literature for employees.
  • Perform clerical duties as requested.
  • Provide word processing and Excel spreadsheet support.
  • Provide filing support.
  • Assist in compiling information for monthly human resource reports.
  • Assist with monthly compliance checks.
  • Comply with all facility in-service requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the organization, residents, participants, family, and staff.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the organization, residents, participants, family, and staff.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
