About the Role

Lightspeed is seeking a Data Operations & Analytics Analyst to join their Data Office in Berlin. This role serves as a bridge between data, product, and business teams within the Hospitality vertical, transforming complex business questions into clear insights, reusable data models, and reporting to enhance customer understanding, decision-making, and operational performance. The position requires strong analytical judgment, product and business understanding, and technical expertise to elevate data standards.

Responsibilities

Build a solid understanding of Hospitality's business processes, customers, and data.
Perform analyses such as segmentation, customer health checks, and impact measurement.
Write SQL queries and build datasets to answer stakeholder questions, pulling from multiple data sources.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs and spot trends.
Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate loosely defined questions into clear analysis plans.
Present findings clearly with visualizations and a narrative explaining the data's meaning and importance.
Spot and investigate data quality issues, documenting findings and flagging root causes.
Stay up to date with developments, innovations, and trends in data, including machine learning and LLMs.
Contribute to organizational objectives as part of the wider team.

Requirements

2–3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytics role.
Solid SQL skills, comfortable querying and joining data across multiple sources.
Comfortable turning a business question into an analysis plan and asking clarifying questions.
Careful with data accuracy, with a good eye for spotting anomalies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Curious, organized, and a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
