About the Role
The Project Manager will ensure the successful implementation and monitoring of the project, budget, and activities within the Syria Programme. This role involves co-designing and implementing dialogue activities, coordinating knowledge products, and analyzing conflict dynamics. The position requires extensive travel to high-risk areas in Syria.
Responsibilities
- Ensure successful implementation and monitoring of the project, budget, and activities
- Co-design and implement dialogue and peer-learning activities with selected stakeholders
- Support the coordination of knowledge products (research and policy papers) with partners and experts
- Monitor and analyze conflict dynamics in the country and region within the project context
- Contribute to further project development by drafting concept notes and proposals
- Oversee financial management throughout the project cycle
- Ensure smooth communication with partners, stakeholders, participants, and donors
- Contribute to decision-making processes on project staffing or consultancy cooperations
- Mentor and advise junior roles within the project scope
- Conduct extensive travels to high-risk areas
Requirements
- Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Security Studies or a related discipline
- Several years of professional experience in managing complex international projects
- Demonstrated experience organizing workshops, conferences or policy dialogues
- Experience working with/in conflict-affected countries and knowledge of the Syrian context
- Experience in remote communication and cooperation
- Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams)
Skills
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of security governance, community violence reduction, peace processes or political transitions
- Strong organizational as well as intercultural and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in high-level settings
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and Arabic
Location
- Berlin, Germany

- Part-time (80%)
- Limited contract for 12 months
