About the Role
Advance your Hand Therapy – Occupational Therapy career with a collaborative team where we’re Stronger Together. Join an elite outpatient Hand Therapy OT team in one of the largest clinics in the Bronx, where you’ll treat a diverse, complex caseload across adult and pediatric orthopedics, while working closely with surgeons at Montefiore Medical Center and contributing to cutting-edge research in a highly specialized clinical environment. Be part of a collaborative, no-ego team of expert therapists, with opportunities to build advanced skills in hand therapy, post-operative care, and progressive treatment planning, alongside specialized pediatric OT services.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing patient medical history and developing individualized treatment plans
- Diagnosing patients by observing movements and listening to concerns
- Using exercises, stretching, equipment, and manual therapy to manage pain and improve mobility
- Recording patient progress and modifying treatment plans as needed
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (or ability to obtain in the state of practice)
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
- Basic computer skills
- CPR and first aid certification required
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) strongly preferred OR CHT-eligible (minimum 4,000 hours of hand therapy experience and 3 years of practice), awaiting board examination, OR Level II fieldwork in hand therapy, with relevant continuing education, and 1–2 years of outpatient hand therapy experience as a licensed OT, OR New grads with Level II fieldwork in hand therapy with a a strong clinical interest in upper extremity rehabilitation and a commitment to pursuing advanced training and certification in hand therapy
- Experience in orthopedic hand therapy treating both adult and pediatric patients is required.
