About the Role
KPMG Audit Technology is building a world-class product organization. This role will establish and lead a new Business Solution & Service Design function to ensure a cohesive, user-centric product portfolio, transforming the technology landscape into a service-oriented ecosystem. The Director, Business Solution & Service Design acts as the senior Product counterpart to the technical architecture team, shaping strategic business initiatives through a business capability, value stream, and user-experience lens. While technically literate, the role is decisively business-outcome focused, translating business needs into logical blueprints for engineering execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the Business Architecture, including enterprise-wide Business Capability Map and Value Stream Maps.
- Design conceptual service blueprints for major strategic initiatives.
- Lead business application rationalisation to identify redundancies and define consolidation roadmaps.
- Translate business journeys into integration requirements in partnership with Enterprise and Solution Architects.
- Govern business solution alignment through a design review process.
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on technology-enabled solutions.
- Influence technical and product roadmaps with business-architecture guidance.
- Represent business needs for data and AI utility to support connected data architectures.
- Lead and mentor a team of business integration analysts, business architects, and UI/UX/Service designers.
Requirements
- Senior leadership experience in Business Architecture, Technical Product Management, Service Design, or Business Transformation Strategy.
- Proven experience creating and utilizing business architecture artifacts (business capability maps, value stream maps, customer journey blueprints).
- Deep experience in large-scale enterprise environments, preferably in professional services, ideally in Big 4 Audit.
- Demonstrated success leading business-side application portfolio rationalisation or functional consolidation initiatives in complex, regulated environments.
- High technical literacy with modern architectural concepts (API-first, microservices, cloud platforms, AI integrations).
- Ability to converse fluently with Enterprise and Solution Architects.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex operational workflows into clean, compelling narratives for executive stakeholders.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills, with a proven track record of building consensus and operational trust with engineering counterparts.
- Professional Services experience is essential.
- Knowledge of Audit within the Big 4 is preferred.
