About the Role
We are looking for 3 skilled, dynamic, and motivated Social Workers for our Children in Care Team who are passionate about achieving excellence and driving change for children and young people in Barnet.
Responsibilities
- Act as a case holder for Looked After Children.
- Develop and implement timely and effective care plans and pathway plans with children and young people.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety planning.
- Work with partners to ensure the safety of children and young people.
- Manage a varied caseload of children in care from infancy to 18 years old.
- Support children and young people through assessments, care planning, and life story work.
- Develop challenging and creative ways of working with children in care.
- Support children in care to develop independence and transition to the care leaving service.
- Achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
- Experienced social worker with creative and analytical thinking.
- Recent experience working as a case holder for Looked After Children.
- Thorough understanding of risk assessments, safety planning, and child protection.
- Ability to work directly with a varied caseload of children in care.
- Ability to support children and young people through assessments, care planning, and life story work.
- Ability to develop challenging and creative ways of working.
- Ability to support children's independence and transition to care leaving services.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Willingness to undergo stringent safer recruitment procedures including DBS checks.
- Willingness to demonstrate suitability for the position during a six-month probationary period.
