About the Role
Bonial is seeking individuals to join their team and contribute to the digitalization of retail. The company is a leading 'Drive to Store' partner in Germany and France, connecting millions of users with shops and brands through platforms like kaufDA and MeinProspekt. They are experiencing rapid growth and transforming how people discover retail, operating in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Join the Platform Engineering team within Digital Enablement.
- Work closely with the department and supported engineering teams.
- Get hands-on daily with AWS, Kubernetes, Backstage, GitHub, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Improve developer experience by helping teams upgrade their stack and pipelines.
- Contribute to shared libraries.
- Strengthen testing and staging setups.
- Think about the next iteration of CI/CD.
- Drive innovation on other topics.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in a Dev, DevOps, or Systems Engineering role.
- Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Strong problem-solving instincts, adaptability, and willingness to take ownership.
- Strong communication skills (English required, German a plus).
- Ability to balance developer experience, setup complexity, and company requirements.
- Some knowledge of application and infrastructure security.
- Broader exposure to CI/CD and a solid understanding of the full SDLC.
- Some software development chops (Java, Python, or Golang preferred).
- Experience with observability tools.
- A genuine passion for Infrastructure- and Configuration-as-Code.
- A healthy aversion to Click-Ops.
- Knowledge of GoatOps 🐐.
