About the Role
This position represents the affiliate’s medical/scientific expertise for assigned products and therapeutic areas. The role is accountable for shaping and executing medical strategy, planning and driving evidence generation activities, and providing scientific exchange to internal and external stakeholders. It also contributes medical/scientific input to marketing and early asset development strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust medical strategy for assigned product(s) and therapeutic area(s) in alignment with overall affiliate and brand objectives.
- Design and implement medical research projects within defined standards and budgets.
- Provide oversight for the review, approval, and conduct of IIS studies.
- Support the affiliate Clinical Research Department in managing clinical studies.
- Lead publication activities, including scientific congress presentations and manuscript development.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with external experts and academic centers.
- Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals.
- Develop and update medical education materials.
- Screen relevant literature and develop summaries of key messages for internal use.
- Provide medical/scientific input into marketing strategy, commercial initiatives, and early asset development strategy.
- Monitor the environment for competitive intelligence and communicate findings.
- Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Respond to requests for scientific/technical information.
- Contribute to the development and medical/scientific accuracy of core dossiers.
- Contribute scientifically to train commercial functions and other departments.
- Develop and update relevant training materials.
- Review and prepare promotional material, ensuring medical/scientific content is correct and compliant.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and AbbVie policies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical science and regulations
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements governing clinical trials, and experience in development strategy and protocol design
- Experience in a pharmaceutical company for over 3 years

Education Level
- Ph.D. – Desirable
- Bachelor or Master of Science – Required
