About the Role
As a QA Engineer, you will ensure our product works reliably for users, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and Data teams from the start of the delivery process. You will help identify risks early, design effective test coverage, and make confident release decisions by combining automation, exploratory testing, and customer-centric thinking. You will also leverage AI-assisted testing tools to broaden ideas and accelerate automation, applying human judgment to validate results.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on requirements and designs to ensure features are clear, testable, and valuable.
- Plan testing for features and epics, identifying risks, dependencies, coverage needs, and timelines.
- Execute exploratory, functional, regression, and smoke testing across user journeys and real-world scenarios.
- Apply risk-based testing, focusing on areas with high customer impact or data sensitivity.
- Design and maintain reliable automated tests, integrating them into CI/CD for fast feedback.
- Manage test data and environments for repeatable and representative testing.
- Investigate and manage defects through to resolution, including root-cause analysis.
- Validate performance, reliability, usability, and accessibility at the feature level.
- Work with Data Engineering to validate data integrity, completeness, consistency, transformations, and analytics outputs.
- Communicate quality, risk, and release readiness using test results, defect trends, logs, and production signals.
- Contribute to incident learning, test reviews, retrospectives, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Professional experience in QA or software testing within an agile product team.
- Practical experience with exploratory, functional, regression, and automated testing.
- Experience creating and maintaining automated tests and integrating them into CI/CD workflows.
- Strong defect investigation, reproduction, triage, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of test data, test environments, quality metrics, and risk-based coverage.
- Awareness of performance, usability, accessibility, security, and reliability considerations.
- Clear communication and confidence working with Engineering, Product, QA, and Data stakeholders.
- A customer mindset focused on user experience and outcomes.
- Judgement to use AI and automation effectively while retaining human responsibility for quality.
