About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager (m/f/d) for the Design & Engineering service line within our global Mobility business area. You will collaborate with clients worldwide to develop thriving, connected cities and communities, advancing the world by addressing the transformation pressures on mobility systems and platforms due to climate change, urbanization, digitalization, and population growth. We develop connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies to optimize the mobility of people and the transport of goods.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for infrastructure clients in nationwide projects for Deutsche Bahn and road construction.
- Manage diverse and complex infrastructure projects through phases 1 to 7 of HOAI using a structured and independent approach.
- Ensure adherence to costs, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Apply soft skills in client relations and hard skills in using relevant software tools.
- Coordinate and foster solution-oriented collaboration with users, planners, and executing companies.
- Support the development and implementation of organizational structures tailored to specific project requirements.
- Perform tasks related to procurement, contract management, change order management, invoice verification, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with and support colleagues at other locations.
Requirements
- A completed degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable qualification.
- Experience in project steering and project management.
- Experience with infrastructure projects, preferably in the Deutsche Bahn or road construction sector.
- Knowledge of the German construction industry and initial exposure to the planning and construction of roads, bridges, or tunnels.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in AHO, HOAI, and VOB.
- Knowledge or initial exposure to international models such as EPCM, FIDIC, etc.
- Good command of MS Project and other Office applications.
- Diplomatic skills and professional demeanor.
- Goal-oriented, independent, team-oriented, and communicative.
- Ability to assess project timelines, quality, and costs based on project specifications.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
- Willingness to travel as required by the project/business.
