About the Role
This role is responsible for installation, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, training, spare part management, modification, and application support for medical instruments. You will also be involved in customer support center operations, system management (REXIS/CRM), and other related activities to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, perform, and complete installation procedures (HW and SW).
- Support the installation dedicated team according to the monthly schedule.
- Take customer calls and perform technical troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
- Be responsible for closing technical calls from customer sites and reporting to the line manager.
- Provide 24-hour technical hotline support with regular rotation for emergency calls.
- Arrange and run preventive maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled).
- Maintain and manage the PM table and prepare involved spare parts or consumables.
- Plan and perform user (service) training (initial, on-site, and in-house).
- Train internal junior engineers and perform distributor (service) training.
- Transfer technical knowledge to engineering or application colleagues.
- Participate in overseas service training with a train-the-trainer concept.
- Order spare parts on a monthly basis and monitor inventory volume.
- Manage used spare parts and support physical delivery to other sites.
- Run RA (Return Authorization) procedures on a quarterly basis.
- Plan and run modification procedures (HW/SW, mandatory/non-mand – Upgrade etc.).
- Update modification status and review technical documentation (e.g., service bulletin).
- Monitor and complete various technical problems efficiently.
- Support application routine workflows (e.g., application setting, operator training).
- Collect all taken-back assets.
- Process inbound of taken-back instruments with a confirmation sheet.
- Guide Instrument Movement SOP and report to the PS SSO Team.
- Support corporate audit preparation (physical) including instrument tracking/management.
- Manage used instrument inventory stock according to asset book value.
- Operate the DXD In-House Service Center.
- Arrange outsourcing for wasting companies and manage payments.
- Input performance data on REXIS and review the results.
- Clarify end-user service quality input data (login time, SIQ).
- Communicate with GCS (Global Customer Support) via Aurora, Grips, and direct communication.
- Manage demo instruments and demo rooms.
- Support sales/marketing activities (e.g., congress, workshop, demonstration etc.).
- Provide and update service information on a regular basis (e.g., service bulletin, letter).
- Manage technical documentation (service manual, user guide, operational guide).
- Manage quality (e.g., KFDA audit preparation, master file, measuring meter list).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related major (Electrical, Electronic, or Biomedical Engineering).
- Fundamental understanding of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), specifically for clinical laboratories.
- Professional knowledge in repairing and maintaining medical instruments.
- Working experience within a clinical laboratory or the bio-science industry.
- Previous experience in technical engineering or customer service-related roles.
- Specialized skills in service, application, and instrument optimization.
- A bold approach to taking risks, trying new things, and demonstrating resilience and learning agility.
- Ability to lead in cross-functional teams and build networks to exchange knowledge and ideas.
- Customer-centric mindset with strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective internal and external cooperation.
- Strong capability in handling PC-based programs, particularly MS Office.
