About the Role
This position offers the opportunity to work independently in Maine or New Hampshire, with the support of a close-knit team. You will lead project teams, implement process improvements, and coach junior analysts and trainees. Top performers can gain commercial loan approval authority and develop a career path aligned with professional and bank goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation for new commercial and commercial real estate loans using the Bank’s loan origination system.
- Utilize automated decision-making functions within the loan origination system to assess risk and decision loan requests.
- Prepare Commercial Offering Memoranda using the loan origination system, Excel, and Word.
- Review and analyze updated financial statements and supporting documentation to confirm risk ratings on existing loans.
- Discuss credit weaknesses or potential credit problems with Lenders, other Credit Officers, or the Director of Credit Administration.
- Make risk rating recommendations.
- Stay informed about regulatory guidelines and Bank policies.
- Assist in training other members of the Credit Department or business line partners.
- Maintain communication between Credit, Lenders, and Management by updating workflows and generating pipeline reports.
- Accompany Lenders to meet with customers and prospects when appropriate.
- Participate in or lead commercial credit-related projects.
- Develop expertise in specialty areas of commercial credit analysis and provide guidance to other analysts.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a four-year college degree.
- Competency in financial accounting.
- Minimum five years related work experience.

- Ability to translate complicated financial metrics into a concise assessment of risk
- Interpersonal skills, including coaching, mentoring, and negotiating
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
