About the Role
DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel to join its Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup. This role offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful work and grow your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with clients.
- Supervises associates.
- Collaborates with experts.
- Assists with fact development and depositions.
- Reviews and drafts discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
- Develops case strategy.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
- Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
- Foster positive work relationships.
- Comply with all firm policies and practices.
- Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in conference calls, and attending meetings.
- Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes.
- Experience with M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
