About the Role

As a Planner at Starcom, you will develop media plans that deliver on client objectives by leveraging human insights to drive business outcomes. You will manage the full implementation of plans from strategic development to execution, including campaign analysis and optimization to meet key business and campaign objectives. Starcom offers the opportunity to work from anywhere.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze marketing, client, industry, competitive, and human insight data to determine client advertising and media needs.
  • Analyze media alternatives and make multi-media recommendations to best allocate budgets across media, resulting in strategic and effective media plans.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to overall media plan objectives, and prepare campaign performance documents.
  • Utilize and demonstrate knowledge of syndicated media, research, and other data resources.
  • Clearly communicate media objectives, strategies, and executional guidelines to internal execution and specialty teams.
  • Present plans to the client brand group, with assistance from a Supervisor/Manager.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media suppliers and stay informed of market conditions.
  • Work closely with external agency partners.
  • Actively participate in account status meetings, both internal and external.
  • Develop or assist with the development of Points of View (POVs).
  • Actively participate in the overall billing and financial process, including data collection, input, budget tracking, and ensuring accurate monthly client billing.
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory training sessions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Media.
  • Bachelor's degree; degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, handle a high volume workload, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in math.
  • Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources.
  • Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
