About the Role

As a Claims Specialist-Design Professional, you will play a critical role in AXA XL's claims for the Design Professional team. You will work closely with your manager and fellow Claims colleagues to drive files to resolution and interact and collaborate frequently with the Underwriting team to achieve the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients by resolving and settling claims proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thoughtful and comprehensive coverage analysis on all new matters and act as a resource to the underwriting team for wording and account reviews.
  • Utilize experience and information obtained to evaluate financial exposures.
  • Negotiate appropriate and timely resolutions on assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
  • Actively participate in mediations and settlement conferences as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Consult with and report to Claims Management and Claims Legal on large losses and contentious coverage matters, ensuring all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome.
  • Maintain file notes, prepare internal reporting, perform timely reserving, issue payments, and set electronic file diaries in accordance with best practices guidelines.
  • Identify, monitor, and report on emerging trends within the insurance industry and legislative changes.
  • Actively participate in new account and renewal meetings as required.
  • Take an active role in the development of educational material and risk management initiatives for policyholders and agents, facilitating delivery through public speaking and individual consultation.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Representative’s Certificate for Commercial-lines claims adjustment in compliance with AMF requirements.
  • Experience handling litigation claims for Professional lines of business.
  • Impeccable ethical reputation and an unwavering dedication to collaboration with clients, brokers, internal teams, and vendors; evidencing professionalism and diplomacy in all situations.
  • Superior verbal and written communication in both official languages, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills with the established ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the proven ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative toward continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly TEAMs, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
