About the Role

The Procurement & Subscriptions Librarian oversees the assessment, negotiation, and acquisition of external information resources, including data services and subscriptions, for the Bank's Economic Group and A.S. Holmes Library.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders to gather requirements for data and information resources.
  • Manage complex data and information subscriptions contracts through their lifecycle, including negotiation, licensing, permissioning, and payments.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Legal teams, internal clients, and external vendors for contract management.
  • Develop and implement expenditure and usage reporting for subscriptions.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding subscription trials, renewals, and risk management of electronic resources.
  • Participate in current awareness distribution activities.
  • Advise on compliance queries for content use.
  • Build and maintain internal and external professional networks.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in contract management and acquisitions.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders across various formats (bibliographic databases, e-journal packages, data sets, news sources).
  • Awareness of information and data governance frameworks and policy.
  • Understanding of licensing, contract terminology, and copyright.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage data, information, and knowledge assets using information management tools (library management systems, content management systems).
  • Experience with procurement in academic, corporate, or government sector libraries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work openly and dynamically within a team.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
